Penny Eizenga is a Toronto based independent filmmaker and actor. Penny’s most recent film, The RUN is a dramatic short about a woman grieving the loss of her daughter, who takes a not-so-routine run, re-awakening her to life, which is now in the film festival circuit.
She recently completed co-producing and acting in a short film by award-winning director, Brett Heard of Fresh Baked Entertainment, entitled Parent Teacher, a comedy about the perils of the dreaded parent teacher interviews.
Penny also wrote, produced and starred in, titled Margaret Finds Her Mojo, a comedy about a woman finding her voicein the workplace and which screened at the LA Comedy Shorts Film Fest, LA Indie Film Festival and the won the Gold award in the Independent Comedy Shorts category at the Houston International Film Festival.
Her first short film, Wilderness, won the Platinum award for Best Independent Dramatic Short at the Houston International Film Festival. She also played the role of Linda Michaels in the same film. The story explores the struggle ofa woman as she witnesses her son’s refusal of treatment for schizophrenia.
Penny has also created several videos, short film trailers anda web-based pilot called Grateful Tails about the bond between owners and their pets. She produced a 21-episode web series called The Giant Comes Out, which recently screened at the LA Comedy Fest.
Penny is currently developing two feature film scripts and co-producing Coasters, a Fresh Baked Entertainment feature film in pre-production.
Dominique is a Canadian Film Centre alumni, having completed the Editor’s Lab in the Alliance Atlantis Film Resident’s Program. Her experience as an actor, studying at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC lend to her talents as a picture editor.Dominique edited and color graded Margaret Finds Her Mojo with the same Producer/Writer as Wilderness for which she receiveda Canadian Cinema Editor Awards Nomination for Best Editing in a Short Film. Wilderness won the Platinum Remi Award at WorldFest Houston and played at 6 festivals including the Cannes Short Film Corner, and the NSI Online Short Film Festival. Dominique has edited other numerous award winning short films including Above the Knee and Pudge, which both premiered at The Toronto International Film Festival. ABOVE THE KNEE was selected in TIFF’s Canada’s Top Ten short films. Pudge screened at other major international film festivals including The World Wide Short Film Festival and WorldFest Houston, where it won the Platinum Remi Award.Her other short film credits include L'Homme et le Malheur, whichwas nominated for the Tiscali Short Film Award in Italy and played at 15 festivals worldwide.She also edited the documentary, Underground, an official selection of Hot Docs Film Festival. Dominique edited the feature film Moments Before, which premiered at LA Femme Festival in Los Angeles and screened at The Moving Images Festival in Toronto.
As an honour graduate of Humber College (2006) Film and Television Production and recipient of the Edmund Long CSC Award for excellence in Cinematography, Devon Burns has been working consistently in the film and television industry for a variety of production companies and as an entrepreneur creating award winning short films / videos, music videos, documentaries, corporate marketing and commercials. His talents behind the camera and with lighting flow seamlessly between cinematography and photography, which is an asset in current digital media acquisition and budget conscious projects. With solid experience in all aspects of film production, Devon clearly and purposefully creates and successfully delivers a final product tailored to the needs of eachproject. He looks forward to greater opportunities / projects to express and expand his artistic talents as an established Cinematographer/Photographer.
